I am retired as a child psychiatrist now I trained in Newcastle, England where Paediatrics was strong. The joint collaboration between Prof Issy Kolvin & Prof John Webb kept a strong interest in Clinical Paediatrics during my Child Psychiatry training. I spent 6 years in Birmingham before my long appointment here at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children Edinburgh. This gave me a close relationship with my Paediatric colleagues & teaching opportunities to medical students, nurses, & psychologist. After my retirement, I had brief teaching experiences in Armenia, Dohuk, Iraqi Kurdistan & Palestine where I learned about Child Mental health problems in new contexts. I would describe my interests as those of a pediatrician with an interest in Child Mental Health. I still think we are at our best for our patients when we work collaboratively. as there is "no physical health without mental health"

Biography :

Lana Gagin attended Bashkirian State University Medical School. She completed her Pediatric Residency at the Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine GRMEP in 2007. She earned her Master’s degree in Public Health at the University of Michigan in 2010 while also working as a pediatrician in the Outpatient General Pediatric Clinic. She joined the staff of the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital’s Academic General Pediatrics in 2010. In 2011, she joined the staff of Spectrum Health Medical Group and became a Medical Director of Newborn Services in Grand Rapids Campus. As a Medical Director she led the team of physicians in establishing new practices for breastfeeding support which resulted in a successful Baby-Friendly Hospital designation in 2014. She serves as a core faculty at the Pediatric Residency Program at Spectrum Health. She is a co-founder and a Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Rotation, and has been leading multiple quality improvement initiatives. She completed her Lean Healthcare Certification at the University of Michigan in 2014. In 2015, she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Biography :

Dr. Sergei Shushunov, MD was born in St. Petersburg, Russia where in 1977 he graduated from the Pediatric Medical Institute and was trained in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He immigrated to the United States in 1981 where he received training in General Pediatrics and in Pediatric Critical Training at Universities of Illinois and Minnesota. He received Board Certification in General Pediatrics in 1989 and in Pediatric Critical Care in 1990. During his career, Sergei Shushunov worked in several community and academic hospitals and had the opportunity to open two Pediatric Intensive Care Units in the United States, while caring for patients ranging from newborns to late teens and adults. As a medical director his responsibilities included development and the implementation of policies and procedures; the development and implementation of treatment protocols; participation in a continuous quality improvement committee, critical care committee, ethics committee and utilization review committee; development and implementation of pediatric intensive care medical students and pediatric residents curriculum; supervision of patient transport, nurses, respiratory care technicians, pediatric residents and pediatric ICU medical staff. He served as a faculty member at University of Illinois and University of Kansas, teaching medical students and pediatric residents. Over the past few years, he focused on developing a new Therapeutic Hypothermia / Targeted Temperature Management System based on hyper-cold air mechanical ventilation. In addition to his training in conventional medicine, he was trained in Medical Acupuncture and Pharmacognosy at UCLA and the University of Illinois. Sergei owns 2 patents and has several publications in peer review journals. His interests outside of medicine include hunting, sailing, theater, literature, art movies and classical jazz.

Dr. Joerg Bachmann earned his medical degree in 1995 at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. In addition, after studying at the technical university in Darmstadt and the open university in Hagen, he obtained a diploma in electrical engineering. In 1996 he received his medical doctorate. After completing his training as a specialist in otorhinolaryngology, he has been working as a senior physician since 2002, and since 2015 as Assistant medical director in the ENT clinic Bad Lippspringe, Germany. Congress contributions and publications took place amongst others on the subjects tonsillectomy, Zenker's diverticulum, foreign body of the nasal cavity. Dr. Bachmann is an very experienced surgeon in the field of the rhinosurgery and reconstructive microsurgery of the middle ear.

Nilson N. Mendes Neto, M.D. is a physician scientist and mentor at the American Physicians Scientist Association. He is also member of the Infectious Diseases Society of American, American Academy of Pain Medicine and American Academy of Neurology. In addition to be an alumni of the University of California, Davis, he is also the president of Interest Group Research in Infectious Diseases at his home university. In the last 3 years, Dr. Nilson Mendes has worked in Neuromodulation research to treat patients with chronic pain such as fibromyalgia, headaches and low back pain. He has also conducted very important researches about Congenital Zika Syndrome and its neurological complications.

She was the 1st Malaysian to receive prestigious The Dr Farndale Award 1996 from South Banks University, London, UK. She was gazetted as Public Health Physician by Ministry Of Health, Malaysia in December 2003. Over the past twenty-four years, pediatric heart surgeon Dr. William Novick and his non-profit medical teams have performed over 7,400 pediatric heart surgeries in more than 30 countries worldwide including in places like Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Morocco, and Russia. Dr. Novick is a graduate of University of Alabama School of Medicine. After two years as the sole pediatric cardiac surgeon at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children he joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee as a pediatric cardiac surgeon. He has authored multiple papers on congenital heart disease, contributed to several books on pediatric heart disease, intensive care and thoracic trauma, as well as co-authored “Healing the Heart of Croatia.” In October 2014, this group of dedicated professionals came together in support of their natural leader and formed the William Novick Global Cardiac Alliance. Together Dr. Novick and his global charity continue to work in any corner of the world where their services are needed, bringing real hope and healing to so many children and families.

She did internships in Pediatric Oncology at University Hospital Motol in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2013, in Neonatal ICU of Hospital São Francisco Xavier in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2018. If Allied Academies cancels this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.


Postponement


If Allied Academies postpones an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.


Transfer of registration


All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization, if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to contact@alliedacademies.com . Details must be included the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.


Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied Academies if the person is unable to attend one of conferences.


However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 14 days of respective conference.


The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.


Visa Information
